The National Law Journal released its annual list of the Top 50 Go-To Law Schools, with the University of Pennsylvania topping the list for the second consecutive year. Using a criteria centered specifically around graduates hired by the nation’s 250 largest law firms, the top 10 go-to law schools of 2012 were as follows:
- University of Pennsylvania
- University of Chicago
- Columbia
- New York University
- Northwestern
- Harvard
- Duke
- Stanford
- University of California at Berkeley
- Cornell
The National Law Journal also published a detailed look at the data behind this year’s rankings. In addition to breaking down all the hiring data for recent graduates, the post also offers a cost benefit analysis showing what law schools offer the highest job placement relative to the total cost of tuition. Although the analysis once again largely favors the top 10 schools listed above; UCLA, the University of Texas, and the University of Virginia, also performed well when it comes to job placement versus the cost of tuition.
