In this case–referred to us by another attorney because of our firm’s specific expertise in bike accident cases–our client was riding his bicycle along a busy thoroughfare when he was “doored” by an individual who had parked and opened his car door just as the bicyclist we represented was driving by. The insurance companies for the defendant contested both the injuries and the issue of who was at fault. Through investigation and litigation we were able to establish the fact that the individual had been parked there for some time and opened his door suddenly without looking in his left rear view mirror. The recovery was $195,000.00.
