Did you know that December 15 is the most dangerous day for drivers? According to data released by Allstate Insurance Company, there are 23 percent more car accidents on December 15 than the daily average for the rest of the year. No one is quite sure why there are so many accidents on December 15, but Allstate predicts it could be a combination of bad weather and holiday distractions.

According to Allstate, the next four most dangerous days are, in order, February 14, October 13, December 18, and September 5. The information serves as a reminder that even if you avoid distracted driving, obey all traffic signs, and drive defensively, it is always important to be aware of when you’re driving, and watch out for other potentially dangerous drivers.

With this in mind, we have developed a calendar of motor caution days, complete with the most dangerous days on California roads, and important driving, bicycling, or pedestrian related events that urge responsible driving behavior. In addition to pointing out days like December 15, the calendar highlights events like National Bike to Work Day and National Distracted Driving Awareness month so that we can all engage in safety-related events. Take a look at the motor caution calendar, and let us know in the comments if we missed anything.
