A motorcyclist was reportedly seriously injured in a crash on northbound State Route 13 near Broadway Terrace in Oakland on August 22, 2026.
What has been reported
GJEL’s initial account and a secondary crash summary dated August 22 place the incident around 2:05 p.m., just south of Broadway Terrace. The secondary account attributes the information to CHP and describes a motorcycle and a Honda Civic. It reports that the rider was taken to a hospital.
The secondary summary is not an original agency release. We have not independently verified a later medical update or the sequence leading to the crash. No cause should be inferred from the vehicle types, time of day or highway location.
Records that can help an injured rider
Keep photographs of the motorcycle and damaged riding gear, the incident number, treatment paperwork and insurance correspondence. If footage exists, preserve the original file with the time and location attached. Avoid turning a description of damage into a conclusion about speed or fault.
CHP’s collision-report request instructions explain how to ask for a report and check eligibility.
Use the correct highway and direction of travel when asking which office holds the report. Do not assume a city police department handled an incident merely because it occurred within Oakland.
GJEL’s motorcycle accident information offers background for riders and passengers preparing questions about a serious injury. Any assessment requires the facts and records of the particular crash.
