At least one serious injury was reported following a two-vehicle crash on westbound State Route 37, west of Lakeville Highway, early on August 23, 2026.

Available incident information

GJEL’s initial coverage and a secondary crash summary published August 23 place the report around 2:53 a.m. The latter attributes its information to CHP and describes a Toyota Corolla and a Honda sedan. It reports that at least one person was taken to a hospital.

The secondary source is a law-firm summary. We have not obtained an original CHP release or independently verified the occupants’ identities, later medical condition or crash sequence. The record does not establish fatigue, speed, lighting or roadway design as a cause.

Finding the relevant records

When making a records inquiry, use the highway, direction of travel, nearby Lakeville Highway and the incident date. Confirm the investigating office rather than directing a request to a city police department simply because a report uses the word Sonoma.

CHP’s collision-report request instructions explain how to ask for a report and check eligibility.

People involved can keep their incident number, vehicle photographs, insurance correspondence and treatment records together. An old lane-closure report should not be used as current travel advice.

For injury-related background, see GJEL’s car accident information. An individual review needs the evidence specific to this crash.
