Motorcycle Crash Case Summary

On May 28, 2010 just after noon, our client was driving on Lincoln Boulevard at its intersection with 29th Avenue in San Francisco, CA.  Our client was driving a 2002 Honda motorcycle and obeying the rules of the road when another driver in a 1994 Toyota Camry made a left turn directly in front of our client.

Our client suffered serious injuries, mounting medical bills and a substantial amount of missed work. had major leg injuries, requiring multiple surgeries, and large medical bills. He also missed a substantial amount of work

He contacted our San Francisco motorcycle accident office and received a free consultation.

About This Motorcycle Crash

This was a two-vehicle accident that resulted in serious injuries for our client due to the other driver’s negligence.  There were no adverse road conditions and the accident happened in the middle of the day. Our client was smashed to the ground, resulting in major leg injuries that required multiple surgeries.  He also suffered a fractured right elbow as well as pelvic pain and bruising.

The other driver tried to claim that she had seen him from two blocks away and he must have been going 100 mph to get up to the point where she was. The police didn’t believe her and we convinced her insurance company that they would be foolish to believe her.

Additionally, her driver’s license required that she wear glasses and she was not wearing her glasses at the time of the accident. On top of all that, she had a handicap placard hanging from her front mirror, which partly obstructed her view. Our client was transported by ambulance to San Francisco General Hospital where he remained for a day while his leg was treated.  The driver of the car that caused the accident was insured by Allstate Insurance and our client’s motorcycle was insured by Pacific Specialty Insurance.

Case Details on The San Francisco Motorcycle Accident

Our client needed ongoing medical treatment after the case and missed a significant amount of work.  Unfortunately, our client had no medical insurance. Based upon this information he reached out to GJEL Accident Attorneys to see if he was entitled to compensation and to have his questions answered.

The staff at GJEL Accident Attorneys was able to quickly evaluate the case over the phone and have a meeting with the client at San Francisco General Hospital to answer his questions.  He wanted to know:

  • Who was responsible for his medical bills?
  • How would he pay these bills?
  • What would happen if he had lifelong permanent damage?

The two major challenges in the case were convincing Allstate, the insurance for the woman at fault, to pay their policy limits of $100,000 and to convince San Francisco General Hospital to reduce their fees.  Attorney Andrew Gillin helped our client through this difficult time and ultimately was able to settle this case without litigation. Through months and months of negotiation, our client was awarded $100,000 from Allstate for this accident and San Francisco General agreed to a drastic reduction in their charges.
