Visalia police have confirmed that a bicyclist died in the August 30, 2026, crash near Ferguson Avenue and Dinuba Boulevard. Their September 4 news release also announced an arrest on suspicion of felony hit-and-run resulting in death.
Official update
Police responded around 7:48 p.m. on August 30 and found an adult male bicyclist in the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver had left before officers arrived.
Investigators used surveillance footage, automated license-plate readers and other evidence to identify a vehicle. Police said they arrested a 32-year-old man on September 2. An arrest does not establish guilt.
Correction: An earlier version of this article described a morning crash and a cyclist transported for treatment. The police update establishes that the incident occurred in the evening and the bicyclist died at the scene.
