Two Fresno County sheriff’s deputies suffered minor injuries when their patrol vehicle collided with a FAX bus at M and Stanislaus streets in downtown Fresno on September 1, 2026.
What the initial report says
According to FOX26 reporter James Mora’s September 1 account, the deputies were trying to catch a sedan traveling the wrong way on M Street shortly after 5 p.m. when the collision occurred.
Seven bus passengers were taken to a hospital as a precaution. The report said they did not appear to be injured. It also said the sedan’s driver left the area without being contacted and that Fresno police were investigating the collision.

The available account identifies a wrong-way vehicle but does not establish that driver’s identity or give a final finding about responsibility for the patrol car and bus collision. It also does not establish the patrol vehicle’s speed or whether emergency lights and sirens were in use.
