A truck driver died after a crash on eastbound Interstate 80 in Truckee on August 26, 2026. KTVN’s August 26 report, citing its CBS Sacramento affiliate, placed the crash near the Highway 89 junction east of Donner Lake.
What was reported
The truck left the highway and struck a fence around 9:20 a.m. The driver died at the scene. The available reporting did not establish why the truck left the road.
