A driver died in a crash involving a Tesla and a farm tractor on Kammerer Road in Elk Grove on August 26, 2026. A CHP news release published by the Elk Grove Citizen on September 1 provides the incident account below.
What CHP reported
The crash was reported around 5:38 a.m. Both vehicles were traveling east, east of Lent Ranch Parkway, when the Tesla struck the tractor from behind. The Tesla caught fire, and emergency personnel pronounced its driver dead at the scene. The tractor driver reported no injuries.
