A 66-year-old Vacaville woman died in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 505 near Putah Creek Road on August 30, 2026. A 45-year-old Vallejo man was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI, according to CHP information reported by NBC Bay Area on August 30.
What CHP reported
The crash occurred around 12:40 a.m. in the southbound lanes. Investigators said a Chevrolet Tahoe driver made a U-turn and traveled against traffic before hitting the woman’s Nissan Kicks. She died at the scene. The Tahoe driver sustained minor injuries.
Three other vehicles were damaged by debris. NBC reported that the freeway reopened at approximately 4:20 a.m. that morning. That was a historical closure, not a current travel advisory.
