CCCOE-Mock-Trial-Scholarship

The CCCOE Mock Trial Scholarship will be awarded annually to three high school seniors who have been members of their school’s mock trial team for at least one year. The scholarship will be awarded to students who have demonstrated exemplary personal qualities or achievement while participating in mock trial. The following attributes are among those that may be considered: leadership; teamwork; sportsmanship; overcoming hardship or adversity; and/or dedication to learning about the legal system.

The Contra Costa County Office of Education, Communications Department, will select the three student award recipients from applicants nominated by the teacher coaches. The winners will be announced at the annual Mock Trial Awards Ceremony.

Each student awarded the scholarship will receive a check in the amount of $1,000 from the law firm of GJEL at the Awards Ceremony that can be applied to their college tuition, books, room and board, travel to and from school, or other expenses related to higher education.

To recommend a student from your team, submit the completed coach’s nomination form to scholarships@gjel.com by no later than the Monday following the 4th preliminary round of competition (Monday, February 15th).
