Plaintiff Jane Doe was a 17 year-old student who was struck by a bus while crossing the street. She claimed she was crossing the street as the ‘walk’ signal began illuminating. Doe bus company driver contended that the plaintiff was not in her field of vision as she turned the bus at the corner and that the plaintiff was outside the crosswalk at the time.

Plaintiff lost her leg below the knee. Medical specials were in excess of $175,000. A confidential settlement was reached at mediation in the amount of $8 million dollars.
