A driver leaving a parking lot in Brentwood was struck from behind and pushed through an intersection. The crash caused spinal fractures and interrupted his work. GJEL Accident Attorneys pursued the claim through litigation and reached a $250,000 settlement.

The Brentwood rear-end crash

On December 23, 2024, a Polestar driver pressed the accelerator instead of the brake and struck the rear of our client’s Honda Accord. A California Highway Patrol crash report documented the incident. The force of the impact pushed the Honda through the intersection.

GJEL represents people hurt in car accidents, including crashes in Brentwood.

Injuries and effect on work

Our client sustained compression fractures in seven vertebrae. He also reported leg numbness, neck stiffness, shoulder and back pain, and sleep problems. He received care at Kaiser Antioch Medical Center. His injuries led to missed work and lost wages. As a driver whose job depended on his physical ability, the effect on his income was an important part of the claim.

The result

GJEL filed a lawsuit and took depositions. Attorney Jim Larsen handled the case, which settled for $250,000 a little over a year after intake.
