In this case GJEL Accident Attorneys represented a woman who was rear-ended in a Contra Costa County car accident. The woman had been waiting at a red light.

As soon as the light turned green, traffic slowly began to move, but before the client could accelerate through the intersection, she was rear-ended by a flat bed truck.

The defendants in this case were the driver of the flatbed truck as the employer of the driver. It is not known why the driver failed to notice the car in front of him and slow down. The collision resulted in serious back pain for the client, who was pregnant at the time of the accident. Fortunately her child was born healthy.

GJEL worked closely with the client’s treating physicians. The surgeon was at first somewhat difficult to work with, but by personal meetings, GJEL attorney Jim Larsen was able to gain the surgeon’s trust and he ultimately recommended an experimental spine surgery that produced a successful result. The client recovered well from the surgery and the costs of the surgery significantly increased her recovery. GJEL was able to recover $205,000 for the client in this case.
