On November 10, 2011, at 5:58 a.m. our client was a passenger in a vehicle driving along State Route 84 northbound .5 miles south of the toll plaza in the city of Fremont, county of Alameda, state of California. At this time, the driver of his vehicle struck another vehicle setting off a multi-car collision. The accident resulted in the loss of work, serious injuries, and large medical bills leaving our client in a state of uncertainty.

About the Accident

This was a four-vehicle accident that resulted in serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle that started the collision was driving a 2010 Honda Fiat.

There were no adverse road conditions.

After the accident, our client suffered severe neck pain, back pain, and leg injuries, and was transported by ambulance to Washington Hospital.

The driver of the car that caused the accident was insured by AAA.

Case Facts

Our client needed ongoing medical treatment after the case including physical therapy. At first, AAA insurance was not convinced of the necessity of medical treatment. Our client missed a significant amount of work and was charged large medical bills from this accident.

Based on this information, he reached out to GJEL Accident Attorneys to see if he was entitled to compensation and to have his questions answered. He wanted to know:

  1. Who is responsible for my medical bills?
  2. How will I pay these bills and the loss of work?
  3. What if I have permanent lifelong damage to my body?

The staff at GJEL were able to quickly evaluate the case over the phone. The client wanted to meet in GJEL’s office in Orinda once he was able to make the trip.

Based on the serious injuries from this accident and the mounting medical bills, our client decided to retain GJEL Accident Attorneys to help get his life back on track after this tragic accident.

The staff at GJEL started a full investigation which started with getting the police report from the Fremont California Police Department. The police report showed that the other driver was 100% at fault and responsible for the accident.

Once GJEL obtained the police photographs, our private investigator was able to establish that the other driver was 100% at fault and responsible.

At first, the driver at fault’s insurance was questioning about the seriousness of the injuries. GJEL filed a lawsuit and as the case progressed, it became clear to all parties that this was a serious injury. Attorney Jim Larsen helped our client through this difficult time. This case took approximately nine months to settle. In the end, our client was awarded $125,000 by AAA insurance after aggressive representation by GJEL Accident Attorneys.
