Accident Overview

On July 16, 2019, at 6:57 a.m., our client was driving down Interstate 5, 50 feet north of Laguna Blvd., overcrossing in the city of Sacramento, County of Sacramento, State of California. Our client was obeying the rules of the road when another driver hit our client, causing a serious car accident. The accident resulted in loss of work, serious injuries, and large medical bills leaving our client in a state of uncertainty.

About the Accident

This was a two-vehicle accident that resulted in serious injuries for our client due to the other driver’s negligence. The driver of the car that caused the accident was driving a 2018 semi-truck pulling a trailer.

There were no adverse road conditions, and the accident happened when the driver left their lane and entered our client’s lane.

After the accident, our client suffered from severe back and neck pain as a direct result of the car accident. Our client was transported via ambulance to Kaiser Hospital in Stockton, where she underwent treatment for her severe neck and back pains as well as a significant concussion.

The driver of the car that caused the accident was insured by Cherokee Insurance, while our client was insured by Allstate.

Case Facts

Our client needed ongoing medical treatment after the accident, including post-concussion alleviation and treatment of neck and back injuries.

Our client missed a significant amount of work and was charged large medical bills from this accident. Based on this information, she reached out to GJEL Accident Attorneys to see if she was entitled to compensation and to have her questions answered. She wanted to know:

  1. Who is responsible for my medical bills?
  2. How will I pay these bills and the loss of work?
  3. What if I have permanent lifelong damage to my body?

The staff at GJEL were able to quickly evaluate the case over the phone and have one of our attorneys meet her at her home.

Based on the serious injuries from this accident and the mounting medical bills, our client decided to retain GJEL Accident Attorneys to help get her life back on track after this tragic accident.

The staff at GJEL started a full investigation which started with getting the police report from the [insert police department name]. The police report showed that the other driver was 100% at fault and responsible for the accident.

At first, the party at fault’s insurance company, Cherokee Insurance was not taking full responsibility for the damages caused by the wrongdoer and offered significantly less than GJEL or the client felt her case was worth. As the firm continued to collect the evidence and report the treatment to the insurance company, it realized it was pertinent to settle the case.

Attorney Jim Larsen helped our client through this difficult time and ultimately was able to settle this case. This case took approximately one year to settle without having to file a lawsuit. In the end, our client was awarded $420,000 for this accident by Cherokee Insurance Company after aggressive representation.
