About the Scooter Accident

This was a two-vehicle accident that resulted in serious injuries for our client due to the other driver’s negligence. The driver of the car that caused the accident was driving a 2000 Chevy Tahoe.

There were no adverse road conditions when the accident happened. After the scooter accident, our client suffered multiple injuries. She was taken via ambulance to Eden Hospital, where she underwent treatment for those injuries. The driver of the car was insured by Farmer’s Insurance while our client’s family was insured by State Farm Insurance.

Case Facts

Our client needed ongoing medical treatment after the case. At first, Farmers Insurance was not willing to pay for our client’s medical bills and other damages. Our client was charged large medical bills from this accident. Based on this information, she reached out to GJEL Accident Attorneys to see if she was entitled to compensation and to have her questions answered. She wanted to know:

  1. Who is responsible for my medical bills?
  2. How will I pay these bills and the loss of work?
  3. What if I have permanent lifelong damage to my body?

The staff at GJEL were able to quickly evaluate the case over the phone and arrange to meet with her and her parents.

Based on the serious injuries from this accident and the mounting medical bills, our client decided to retain GJEL Accident Attorneys to help get her life back on track after this tragic accident.

The staff at GJEL started a full investigation which started with getting the police report. The police report showed that the other driver was 100% at fault and responsible for the accident.

At first the party at fault’s insurance company, Farmers Insurance was not convinced that our client was allowed to legally ride her scooter in the crosswalk. For that reason, an offer was made that GJEL accident attorneys considered not sufficient. As the firm continued to collect the evidence and report the treatment to the insurance company, they changed their mind before GJEL has to file a lawsuit.

Attorney Jim Larsen helped our client through this difficult time and ultimately was able to settle this case without litigation. This case took approximately six months to settle without having to file a lawsuit. In the end, our client was awarded $100,000 for this accident by Farmers Insurance company after aggressive representation.
