The two men who died in the August 26, 2026, crash on Montague Expressway in Santa Clara have been identified as Stephen Hinkson, 58, of San Carlos, and Keith Demarest, 39. Bay City News reported the medical examiner’s update on September 2 through Telemundo 48.
What was reported about the crash
Police responded near the Lafayette Street overpass and found a GMC SUV overturned and burning, along with a damaged Honda pickup. Investigators believed the GMC had been traveling against traffic in the northbound lanes before striking the Honda.
